WID Learns about Media Campaigns

For Immediate Release

Berkeley, CA, USA–On November 10, 2015, WID staff members and few friends of WID met with Todd Kerr, Editor-in-Chief of the Berkeley Times in hope that we would learn how to run a successful media campaign. About a dozen people gathered around a long table in the Koret conference room at the Ed Roberts Campus.

Todd walked us through his experiences at Berkeley Times and beyond. His goal is to create community through media, which is why the Berkeley Time‘s moniker is “A Paper for the People of Berkeley.”

We discussed one of WID’s Health and Wellness programs, Disability FEAST, and how it could better reach people with disabilities and seniors. There was a lot of brainstorming, some agreements, and some disagreements. In the end, we came up with a solid game plan, one that included individual and collective efforts, as well as reaching out to old and new friends.

WID is very grateful that Todd took us under his wing and taught us about media campaigns; we look forward to setting everything into motion.
