About Kasim's Research:

Kasim's research aims to revolutionize the landscape of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery in East Africa. The research seeks to shine a spotlight on the participation of Persons with Disabilities in Natural Resource Management (NRM) and disaster-related activities. By conducting a comprehensive case study, the aim is to generate compelling evidence that underscores the critical need for active involvement of marginalized individuals.

Through rigorous data collection, analysis, and stakeholder engagement, the research will not only highlight the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in accessing and benefiting from Natural Resource Management initiatives and disaster management processes but also identify innovative solutions and best practices to foster their meaningful participation.

The goal is to advocate for inclusive policies, programs, and interventions that empower persons with disabilities to contribute effectively to disaster risk reduction efforts and sustainable development.
